While Oregon requires that any person performing construction or maintenance work of any kind on homes and business in the state be licensed, bonded, and insured; there are NO requirements for experience, knowledge, or training to become licensed. Any individual that is capable of passing the state licensing exam can start work as a general contractor with no knowledge of code requirements or experience using tools.

City and County inspections can only do so much, and many inspectors are worked hard and stretched thin to cover large areas of building with barely enough time to fully examine sites in depth. These inspectors are also limited to the area their permit encompasses and cannot call-out code violations in existing structures or previous installation.

Our investigators are experienced in every stage of construction, remodel, renovation, and restoration; we know what to look for, what contractors do to hide code violations, and how to fix the problems we find.
